'Suburban Tranquility' Landscape Design and Build
Creative Director Mike Gaal's industrial design background and the principles of spatial division, balance and proportion that underly all of the studio's traditional two-dimensional design were harnessed to create this outdoor space. A Merbu-deck runway leads to a cantilever-roofed pavilion set against a reticulating waterwall feature. Runway and shelter are framed on both sides by Japanese maples and a channel moat connected to the waterwall. The landscape is brought to life after sunset by recessed uplights in the decking and water features.
